Welcome to the website of the Whitworth Historical Society. The society is located at the Whitworth Heritage Museum on North Street, Whitworth, which is in the borough of Rossendale in East Lancashire. The museum reopened to the public on Saturday 5th of June 2021, and our opening hours for the time being will be from 11am to 4pm on Saturdays only. The society normally operates a very popular programme of monthly lectures, and these are held on the first Wednesday of each month between the months of September and June, but unfortunately the programme has had to be suspended and when we are finally again able to re-commence these again full details will be posted here.
We are always happy to hear from anyone with any artifacts or photographs relating to Whitworth, which we might be able to add to our collection or make copies of, but due to lack of storage space we can't usually take items that don't have any sort of link with the area. If you have anything you might like to donate or loan please do get in touch with us, we'd love to hear from you. You can find out how to contact us via our 'contact us' page.
